On March 10 and 11 building energy modeling (BEM) experts from across the country gathered in Boulder, CO at a Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) sponsored workshop. The
BEM Innovation Summit addressed the barriers and opportunities facing BEM as it seeks wide market adoption in a world demanding better energy efficiency.
The event was co-sponsored by the
Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the US Green Building Council, and
the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) USA. The conference focused on five themes for continuing work: methods, markets, tools, education, and data. IMT contributed its expertise in COMNET methodologies, market drivers, and policy strategies.
The extensive
Pre-Read document distributed prior to the conference provides an excellent reference document to anyone interested in the history, current status, and future issues for BEM.
